Looking Glass Falls, Pisgah National Forest

Looking Glass Falls is a beautiful 60 foot waterfall that resides in Western North Carolina in the Pisgah National Forest. The waterfall is very popular, more than likely because of how easy it is to get to and its size. You can view Looking Glass Falls from the parking area, but there are step and a pathway that lead you to the base. Many people like to swim here and it can get very crowded, especially in the warmer months.

If you are planning to come and photograph Looking Glass Falls, I would come just as the sun started to rise. You wont have the crowd and it is a perfect time to do a nice long exposure shot. When I want to photograph a specific waterfall I usually wait until it has rained a day or two, this way I know the fall will have a nice looking flow.

You can access Looking Glass Falls via U.S. 276 North from Brevard, NC or from the Blue Ridge Parkway by taking a right onto Highway 280 West and go 16 miles toward Brevard, NC.

Thanks for reading! If you see any photographs you would like to get a print of, please head over to the contact page and fill out the form. I am really good about getting back fairly quickly. Thanks again for your support and I hope you enjoyed this blog.
