Hello there! Thanks for stopping by to check out my work. My greatest passion is photography, I just love everything about it. I truly feel this is what I placed here to do. I am a professional photographer based out of Church Hill, Tennessee. I am also a volunteer photographer for the National Park Service. My work has been published by National Geographic YourShot, Shutterbug Magazine, B & H Photography, Blue Ridge Outdoors, Landscape Photography Magazine and Smoky Mountain Living to name a few. Most all of my work is created by using natural light, I would say a good 90% of it.

I specialize in a vast array of different types of photography, landscape, nature, portrait, documentary and architectural.  I love having a variety and I love the different challenges each one brings. If you like the work I create, please head over to my Facebook and Instagram accounts. I post new content on each of these platforms regularly.

If you do see a photo on here you would like to purchase a print of, please head over to the contact page. Fill out the form and I will reach back out to you (usually within the day).

My wife wanted to get out of the house and I thought it would be a great day to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway, our kids were visiting friends for the night and we were itching to get on the road. The weather wasn't bad at all at our house, but we knew we may run into rain along the way. We eventually hit a small burst of rain first near Roan Mountain on our way to the Linville, NC junction to the Blue Ridge Parkway. That rain did not last long at all and once my wife and I reached the junction we decided to head left towards Roanoke, VA. This section of the Parkway has a lot of fields, some overlooks and some cabins, towers and Mabry Mill. We hadn't been along this section of the Blue Ridge Parkway in a long time and thought it would be a nice change of pace. Usually we go from Linville, NC to Cherokee, NC, mainly for the vast views and terrific hiking trails.

Shortly after getting on the Blue Ridge Parkway I saw an entrance to the Mountains to Sea Trail and wanted to go spend a little...

The Black Balsam area of the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Pisgah National Forest is one of my favorite sections along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I had been thinking about doing a sunrise her for a couple of weeks and finally decided to go ahead and just plan on going. Before I knew it, 3 am came and I was up getting dressed and packing my gear and trying my best to not wake up my wife. I stopped by a 24 hour gas station, grabbed some gas and a cup of coffee and by 3:30 am I was well on my way.

I ended up getting to Black Balsam about 5:15 am, I could start to see color in the sky. I thought I might really get a really colorful sunrise and was getting fairly excited. I pulled my camera out and set up my tripod color was starting to take over the sky, it looked like it was catching on fire. As I looked out over the valley I could see Mt Pisgah with some beautiful orange and yellow tones above it. About 15 minutes later the sky was putting on a colorful show. I spent about half an hour here enj...

My friend Nick had messaged me about a week before this day trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway. He was heading down from Ohio to get lost in the mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway was calling. He wanted to know if I wanted to meet up on the Parkway on Saturday to photograph a sunset. I told him I would see if Jody and myself had any plans and would get back to him. A couple days latter I messaged him and told him Jody and myself would meet him, we were all excited to go out and hang out. Nick had his heart set on the Cowee Mountain Overlook at mile marker 430 in Western North Carolina and I had never shot a sunset from this location, so I was game.

As Saturday rolled around I started packing my gear and a cooler for the day. Jody and I left around 12:30 and started on I-26 towards Asheville, N.C. and like many times before I stop at the North Carolina visitors section on the right as you come into the state. However, when we arrived this time Jody and I noticed all of the blooming rhodode...
